Varicose Leg Veins

43 year old gentleman presented to Dr. Brennig with complaints of leg pain increased with long-distance running, standing and prolonged sitting. He had noticed enlarging varicose veins in the area of pain x 2 years. Underwent in office treatment including endovenous laser (EVLT), microphlebectomy and ultrasound guided sclerotherapy. Results shown are 3 months after initial picture.

Leg Pain

65 year old lady was evaluated at The Austin Vein Institute and reported concerns to Dr. Brennig including right leg pain with standing, increased heaviness and pain throughout the day with localized skin itching (dermatitis). She had noted enlarging varicose veins in the area of pain on her lower right leg for more than 4 years and wanted accurate diagnosis and definitive treatment of the problem as support hose had not been helpful.

She was successfully treated by Dr. Brennig at The Austin Vein Institute with endovenous ablation (EVLT), microphlebectomy, and ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy. Time between the before photograph and after photograph was 5 months.

Healthy 44 year old lady presented to the Austin Vein Institute for comprehensive evaluation by Dr. Christopher Brennig. She was concerned about progressively enlarging varicose veins in her left leg. She had been experiencing discomfort and heaviness for more than one year and desired treatment.

After comprehensive evaluation she was treated with endovenous laser (EVLT) and ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy. Before and after photographs were taken 7 months apart

Varicose Clot

Previously healthy 60 year old gentleman referred to The Austin Vein Institute by his primary physician for evaluation by Dr. Brennig. He had developed acute clot in the varicose veins of his left leg. Those varicose veins had been present for many years and never treated. The vein clots were initially managed with pain medication and anticoagulant (blood thinner).

When the patients initial pain and swelling resolved the underlying varicose veins were treated with endovenous laser (EVLT), micro-phlebectomy and ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy.

The patients pain and swelling completely resolved. The risk for recurrent clot formation in the varicose veins has been eliminated as the varicose veins are now gone.

Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLT), Micro-phlebectomy and Ultrasound-guided Foam Sclerotherapy

This 34 year-old lady presented with 3 year history of enlarging and increasingly painful varicose veins in her right leg. Despite wearing insurance mandated compression hose her symptoms persisted and the varicose veins continued to spread and get larger.

Her treatment consisted of Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLT), Micro-phlebectomy and ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy. Correct diagnosis and accurate treatment resulted in excellent results indicated by this follow-up photograph obtained in more than 2 years after her treatment.
